“But do you understand that the timeline of infection has been pushed back steadily for the past several weeks?”
Yes — that is ALWAYS what happens. The timeline of infection is NEVER pushed forward. It’s just a matter of gathering more information and is standard practice in epidemiology.
“Is it really logical to assume that all of these earlier cases — in Santa Clara, France, etc. — were false positives?”
All these earlier cases? You list two. The death in Santa Clara County was on February 6th, over a month after Taiwan began implementing containment procedures. So the only case we have from December outside of China is the French case. That’s just not enough to build a case on. If there were really were millions of people infected with the disease, we should have been seeing a great many deaths from it. We did not.
“The Coronavirus ship sailed weeks (if not months) before we locked down. You don’t have to be an epidemiologist to see this. You just have to use common sense.”
Months?!?!! Your ‘common sense’ is what scientists call ‘science denial’.
“It appears you haven’t done sufficient research in this area. As a point of fact, 80% of infections are mild or asymptomatic”
And what is 20% of a million?
“Far from undermining my claims, it bolsters them.”
Only if you can’t multiply a million by 0.20.
“No. But I have lived on this planet long enough not to trust any expert wholeheartedly.”
Here we come to the nub of the matter: you think that you’re smarter than people who have studied these problems for years. So tell me, are you the smartest person in the world? Are you also the world’s greatest nuclear physicist, the world’s greatest novelist, the world’s greatest athlete, and so on?
