“Okay, sort of. I would say there is ‘real’ wealth (real assets, services) and financial wealth (financial assets).”

Nope, I am flatly denying the existence of financial wealth. Financial wealth exists exclusively to purchase genuine wealth. It itself is NOT wealth.

“On the financial side, the government can credit the bank accounts of slave descendants without debiting the bank accounts of anyone else.”

This is EXACTLY the kind of semantic sleight-of-hand that I object to. I refuse to play semantic games with you.

The fundamental truth here is that wealth is finite. You cannot give wealth to one person without taking it away from another person. Your defense boils down to the claim that it won’t hurt much because we’re only giving a little bit of wealth to one group. This is absurd. Any special interest can claim a chunk of money under your ethic, and government becomes nothing more than a cookie jar with a million hands grabbing at it.

At least it will insure full employment — everybody will become a lobbyist. 😬
